Research Awards and Grants
for Trainees and New Investigators

ASBMT/Astellas New Investigator Award
ASBMT and Astellas Pharma US are sponsoring a two-year grant for new investigators, in the total amount of  $50,000.  The deadline for applications is Dec. 1. 

ASBMT/PDL New Investigator Award
ASBMT and Protein Design Labs are sponsoring a two-year grant for new investigators, in the total amount of  $50,000.  The deadline for applications is Dec. 1. 

ASBMT/AST Clinical Research Award
ASBMT and the American Society of Transplantation (AST) are sponsoring a joint Clinical Research Award for new investigators, in the total amount of $80,000.  The deadline for applications is Dec. 2.

Editorial Awards for New Investigators
Each year, ASBMT presents two editorial awards to new investigators published in Biology of Blood and Marrow Transplantation, the Society’s monthly peer-reviewed journal.  The awards recognize the best basic science and the best clinical research articles, and are sponsored by StemCell Therapeutics and StemSoft Software.

Travel Grants for BMT Tandem Meetings
The ASBMT Executive Committee has announced 40 travel grants of $1,000 each for young investigators (not more than five years in the BMT field) whose abstracts are selected for oral presentation at the 2006 Tandem BMT Meetings, Feb. 16-20, in Honolulu.

 Free ASBMT Membership
Postdoctoral fellows and physicians-in-training for blood and marrow transplantation are eligible for free membership in the American Society for Blood and Marrow Transplantation.  During the months of November and December, annual dues will be waived for new trainees who apply for membership in the Society.  The program is made possible by a grant from ESP Pharma US, a wholly owned subsidiary of Protein Design Labs.
