Editorial Awards for New Investigators

The American Society for Blood and Marrow Transplantation has two awards for new investigators who publish in Biology of Blood and Marrow Transplantation.

The George Santos Award

for the best Clinical Science paper by a new investigator

The Ernest McCulloch & James Till Award

for the best Basic Science paper published by a new investigator

The annual awards of $5,000 each are presented at annual meetings of the American Society for Blood and Marrow Transplantation.

The two awards are made possible by educational grants from StemSoft Software Inc. and StemCell Technologies Inc., respectively.

Eligibility

Applicants for the awards must be:

  1. Either (a) not more than five years past a graduate or post-doctoral program or a clinical research fellowship, or (b) currently active in a training program as a clinical resident or fellow, post-doctoral fellow, medical student, graduate student or undergraduate student.
  2. An ASBMT member, associate member or in-training member, or have a pending application for membership.
  3. The first or last (senior) author of a paper published in the Biology of Blood and Marrow Transplantation.
Application

A submitted article or manuscript must be accompanied by (1) a cover letter that describes the applicant's current research, academic goals and plans, and (2) a curriculum vitae. No application form is required. The application should be submitted to:

Judging

Judging will be by the Editor and Associate Editors of Biology of Blood and Marrow Transplantation. Neither ASBMT elected officers nor Board of Directors will participate in the judging, nor will representatives of the corporate sponsors, StemSoft Software Inc. and StemCell Technologies, Inc.
