BMT Center Administrative Directors
Special Interest Group

Join the Special Interest Group (SIG) for blood and marrow transplant center administrators - a section within ASBMT specifically for those managing the business affairs of adult and pediatric BMT transplant programs.

Established in 1999, the SIG provides a national forum for the exchange of ideas and information and dissemination of data about best practices within the field of cellular therapy and blood and marrow transplantation. The SIG maintains a national voice for administrators in the business affairs of the BMT field in areas such as managed care, reimbursement, program operations, public policy and legislation.

Among current SIG programs are:

  • Planning and coordinating the administrative directors educational track at the annual Tandem BMT Meetings.
  • Continuing review and revision of the BMT standardized Request for Information (RFI).
  • Access to the SIG Internet list serve.
  • The SIG’s new Networking Directory, a guide to members with specific areas of professional expertise who are willing to share information and provide assistance to other administrators.

The SIG members collaborate in areas that benefit all programs, yet respect national competition: best practices, quality improvement, care delivery models, patient and family education, case management and continuum of care.

The annual dues are $125. To become a member, print out a Membership Application, check the "Affiliate Member" category, and mail the application to the ASBMT Executive Office.
