Robert Korngold Re-Appointed Editor-in-Chief of BBMT
Robert Korngold, PhD, has been re-appointed as Editor-in-Chief of Biology of Blood and Marrow Transplantation, the monthly scientific journal of the American Society for Blood and Marrow Transplantation.
In announcing the unanimous decision by the Board of Directors, ASBMT President Robert Negrin commented on the continuing development of the journal under Dr. Korngold’s guidance since 2001: |
 |
· The size of the journal has grown by 95% – from 694 editorial pages in 2001 to 1,356 pages in 2006.
· The number of manuscripts submitted has risen by 160% – from 112 in 2001 to 291 this past year.
· The journal’s Impact Factor has risen steadily – from 2.880 to 3.561.
“Meanwhile the quality of the articles has continued to improve as more and more authors submit their best work to BBMT and the journal's article acceptance rate has trended downward,” Dr. Negrin said.
Dr. Korngold currently is chief of the Research Division at The Cancer Center at Hackensack University Medical Center. He also is a senior scientist at The David & Alice Jurist Institute for Research, and an adjunct professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey.
He earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees at Rutgers University and a PhD in immunology at the University of Pennsylvania.
The term of appointment for BBMT editor-in-chief is six years.
