CIBMTR Launches
New Data Collection System
The FormsNet™ 2.0 electronic data collection system is being introduced today by the Center for International Blood and Marrow Transplant Research (CIBMTR).
The new system will be used to collect information on all aspects of allogeneic and autologous transplants, including research data and treatment outcomes for the Stem Cell Therapeutics Outcomes Database (SCTOD).
TED and Research Forms
The final versions of all revised CIBMTR data submission forms are accessible online today at www.cibmtr.org/DATA/data_idx.html. Whether completed online or on paper, the forms provide data to both the CIBMTR and the NMDP for hematopoietic stem cell transplant recipients. The Transplant Essential Data (TED) series and the comprehensive research forms have been revised and also are posted on the Web page.
Transplant teams can now begin using the revised forms for all data submission to CIBMTR and NMDP. During a grace period through Jan. 31, CIBMTR and NMDP will continue to accept previous versions of transplant recipient forms, including data submissions from StemSoft, but only for patients for whom data collection and submission already is in progress.
Any old version forms submitted after Jan. 31 will be returned, and the transplant team asked to submit the data on the updated revised version of the form. Old versions of the forms are no longer posted on either the CIBMTR or NMDP Web sites.
Electronic Data Submission
Electronic data collection using the new FormsNet™ 2.0 system also begins today. Online access to FormsNet™ 2.0 will be gradually implemented at centers over the next few months. The data collection fields for the online forms will replicate the fields and structure of the printed forms. Transplant teams have been given information about the new system, along with a user's CD and SecurID card, user names and passwords.
Teams using StemSoft software should expect communication from that company for activation of an updated version of the company's software.
