 Six Abstracts Chosen as Best
of BMT Tandem Meetings

A total 450 abstracts from 31 countries were accepted for the 2007 BMT Tandem Meetings.  

Six of the abstracts were selected for awards by the abstract review committees.

Basic Science Research

Recipients of the ASBMT Best Abstract Awards for Basic Science Research were:

  • Catherine M. Bollard, MD, Baylor College of Medicine, HoustonCytotoxic T Lymphocyte Therapy for the Treatment and Prevention of Adenovirus Infection after Stem Cell Transplant

  • Anne M. Dickinson, BSc, PhD, Newcastle University Medical School, Newcastle upon Tyne, United KingdomA Distinct Pattern of Non-HLA Polymorphisms Predicts an Increased Risk of GVHD without Benefit of GVL in HLA-Matched Sibling Transplants for Chronic Myeloid Leukemia

  • Katayoun Rezvani, MD, PhD, National Institutes of Health, Bethesda, Md.WT1-Specific T Lymphocytes Participate in the Elimination of Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia Following Allogeneic Stem Cell Transplantation

Each received a $1,000 prize. 

Clinical Research

Recipients of the CIBMTR Best Abstract Awards for Clinical Research were:

Each also received a $1,000 prize.  The clinical research awards are supported by a grant from Gambro BCT.
