CIBMTR Board Reviews
2006 Accomplishments
A review of accomplishments of the past year was presented to the Advisory Board of the Center for International Blood and Marrow Transplant Research (CIBMTR) during the BMT Tandem Meetings in Keystone.
Among the highlights were:
· A contract from the U.S. Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) to administer the Stem Cell Therapeutic Outcomes Database (SCTOD) for the C. W. Bill Young Cell Transplantation Program.
· Transplant data submitted to the CIBMTR Statistical Center by 406 transplant centers in 41 countries.
· A record 196 active studies in progress within the 17 CIBMTR working committees.
· A record 93 proposals for new studies received prior to the annual meeting with a record 54 approve for initiation.
· Ten presentations at the 2006 American Society of Hematology (ASH) annual meeting.
· Forty-eight scientific papers submitted to, accepted by or published in peer-reviewed journals.
· Approval of CIBMTR membership in the Federation of Clinical Immunology Societies (FOCIS).
· 6,503 samples distributed by the NMDP Repository to principal investigators for Immunobiology Working Committee studies.
· 6,331 samples distributed by the NMDP Repository for an ongoing NMDP retrospective high-resolution HLA typing program that generates data for CIBMTR studies.
