Teleconference Topic Will Be Cellular Therapy
for Tissue Repair and Stem Cell Transplant
“Cellular Therapy for Tissue Repair and Stem Cell Transplantation” is the topic of a 90-minute teleconference developed by ASBMT for transmission across the country on April 26. Designed for physicians, technologists, residents/fellows, nurses and managers/supervisions, the teleconference is part of a series sponsored by the AABB.
Several dimensions of cellular therapy for tissue repair will be explored:
- How to design and operate a GMP facility that complies with institutional, FDA and NIH regulations
- An update on studies using genetically manipulated T-cells for the control of graft-versus-host disease (GvHD) in allogeneic stem cell transplantation.
- Progress in the expansion of umbilical cord blood stem cells to enhance engraftment after allogeneic stem cell transplantation.
The faculty will be Drs. Robert Negrin of Stanford University, E. J. Shpall of M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, and John DiPersio, Jan Nolta and Gerhard Bauer, all of Siteman Cancer Center at Washington University School of Medicine.
