ASBMT/Astellas Launch
New Investigator Award

A $25,000-per-year award for new investigators has been introduced by ASBMT in cooperation with Astellas Pharma US, Inc.  The award will be given at the 2006 BMT Tandem Meetings in February in Honolulu.

The deadline for applications is Dec. 1, 2005.

Funded by an educational grant from Astellas Pharma US, the two-year award encourages clinical and laboratory research by new investigators in the field of blood and marrow transplantation.  Applicants must be at the junior faculty level (instructor or assistant professor) and be an ASBMT member or sponsored by an ASBMT member.

Astellas was formed in April this year by the merger of Fujisawa Pharmaceutical Co. and Yamanouchi Pharmaceutical Co.
